am tutoring in. Personal appointments are listed as "busy" or "out of
town". All other times are available for appointments. If you want a

FAQ
Q: I don't live near Kirkland, WA , is there any way you can help me?
A: There are several ways that we might work together. Depending upon your comfort level we could do telephone sessions or might do email sessions. I've set myself up to do audio/video IM sessions (or Skype). This will provide as close to an in person session as we can manage at this time.
Q: I need some help with these subjects but isn't that my teacher's job?
A: Your teacher has to balance the needs of many students. Some times a student needs extra practice or help, beyond what a teacher can provide within the classroom. I am not a replacement teacher! Rather, I provide a structured guide to the subject that is designed exclusively for you. In tutoring you, I will be working with your teachers, not in competition with them.
Q: I need help with these subjects but between homework and activities there just isn't any time left over. If you give me even more work, I'll just explode.
A: I can understand that! In some rare cases, I will ask you to try to practice some things at home. In most cases, I don't make such requests. Usually, by watching you work on problems, I can suggest better methods of solving the problem, or point out what steps you are missing. In this way the time I spend with you will directly help you shorten the time it takes to do your regular homework. I would like to think that my job is to bring some sanity to your life and add confidence to your abilities.
Q: How much do you charge for your services?
A: I charge $40 per hour of individual contact time. Discounts are available for purchasing blocks of time in advance of use. Small group rates are available which are less expensive per student.
Q: Where do you conduct your tutoring sessions?
A: I try to make this as easy as possible for parents and students. In some cases I can work with the student on campus during study periods or after hours. In other cases we can meet at a local public library or coffee house. Failing these places it maybe possible to conduct a session in your home. Ultimately, a quiet place where neither of us is distracted is all that is required .
